For Grocers, Convenience Stores & Facilities with Commercial Refrigeration
The PUD is partnering with the Bonneville Power Administration and PECI to offer the EnergySmart Grocer program. The focus is on efficient technology, particularly in food refrigeration. You receive a free energy analysis of your facility’s refrigeration, as well as a detailed report showing ways to reduce energy use. Your customized report outlines potential energy savings, rebate amounts, retrofit costs and simple paybacks. To learn more click on Participation Process.
Eligibility
The EnergySmart Grocer Program is available to grocery stores, convenience stores and supermarkets operating in the PUD’s service area.
Incentive Rates
Incentive rates vary based on the measure installed. They are available for:
- Auto-closers
- Gaskets
- Cases & Case Lighting including LEDs
- Commercial Refrigerators & Freezers
- Refrigeration Controls
- Condensers and Compressors
- Motors
- Vending Machine Controllers

Rates may change without notice. Funding may be limited by the PUD’s conservation budget, relative to the time of year the proposal is submitted for review.
